When a loved one passes away, you feel an immediate sense of loss and sorrow. It can be difficult to say goodbye to, a loving spouse, a child, a close relative or a good friend who has impacted your life for the better. After death, those left behind must face a number of decisions regarding burial, closing up various affairs, and dispersing assets. The question of whether or not organs and/or tissue should be donated will arise, and you may have questions about the process. LifeNet Health is here to assist you.
We invite you to learn more about the our donor program and related services to help you decide the next steps to take. You will find a wealth of resources on our site to help you, and we are available to answer all questions about organ and tissue donation and working through your grief in this time.
Writing to Transplant Recipient Brochure: LifeNet Health organ donor families can write to their donor’s recipients before having received a letter from them. Tissue donor families, however, can only respond to a message from a tissue recipient — if the recipient has provided us with their contact information. For our families who want to send a card or letter to a recipient click here to download a brochure that guides you through that process.
For a non-LifeNet Health donor family: If your loved one donated through another Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) please contact that organization for assistance with writing to your loved one’s recipient(s).
Bereavement Program Outline: Here we detail our bereavement services for grieving families. You will find information on workshops and other available programs.
Our Donor Listings By Year: The names of many LifeNet Health donors listed by the year of their donation.
Grief Companion® Program: Our trained Grief Companions, volunteer donor families who have also lost a loved one, provide a safe, compassionate presence for those in need of grief support and comfort. We also welcome people interested in training to become a Grief Companion.
Facebook Group: LifeNet Health Donor Families Facebook Group – a “closed” Facebook group for LifeNet Health Donor Families only.
