I have suffered a devastating loss in my life, the death of a loved one. How can you help?
Please look through the website and get a sense for the different types of services and programs offered. If you are a LifeNet Health donor family member, you may prefer to have a grief companion more so than attend a local support group meeting. You may wish to read a book as opposed to attending a grief workshop. All grief is unique. We hope to offer various activities and resources, and something offered here may be helpful to you.

I just want the pain of my loss to be over - will I ever get over it?
Over time, most people experience a lessening of the intense pain felt as a newly bereaved person. In healthy mourning, people continue to remember their loved one daily, yet assume a "new life" in the absence of their physical presence. Grief work is not easy and it may take many years to fully reconcile the loss in your life. We don't think you actually should "get over" the loss of someone whom you have loved.

How may I find out about your loved one's organ and/or tissue donation?
If you are a LifeNet Health donor family, simply contact us through this website or directly as outlined above and ask us for a recipient health status update or a tissue disposition letter. We will be pleased to provide that information. If you are a donor family outside of the LifeNet Health service area, you should contact the organ procurement organization that worked with you at the time of your loved one's death.

May I correspond with the recipient of my loved one's organ or tissue?
Most organ transplant centers are cooperative in forwarding letters from donor families to transplant recipients. Writing to tissue recipients occurs less frequently because these recipients are more difficult to locate for purposes of delivering correspondence.
