LifeNet's Donor Family Services Depatment's mission is to promote healing and peace for organ and tissue donor families. Our website, however, is open and available for all who mourn the death of a loved one. Feel free to browse and use anything which may be helpful.
I'd like to welcome all visitors to our Healing the Spirit bereavement website. The website provides access to resources we hope you will find helpful as you struggle with the very difficult journey of grief and mourning associated with the death of a loved one.
The website is sponsored by the LifeNet Health Foundation as a means of reaching our LifeNet Health organ and tissue donor families. We realize that healing from loss comes in different forms, and on-line support may be encouraging to many people.
We also welcome anyone from the general public who grieves the death of a loved one. In today's culture, which sometimes is not fully supportive of those who mourn, we hope you will feel a sense of comfort and companionship as you browse Healing the Spirit.
Every day at LifeNet Health we deal with death and life. Our Donor Family Services department likes to focus, however, on life from three perspectives:
- the life of your loved one, which should be treasured and remembered,
- the saved or enhanced life of the organ and tissue recipients, and
- your life, which will grow stronger each passing day with the support of family and friends who love and care for you.
