We are invited to share in a very personal, private and painful part of our donor families’ grief journey – a privilege that is not taken for granted. I look forward to every day of support and care that we offer our families.”

As a tissue recipient, I have experienced profound feelings of gratitude knowing that because of a family’s decision to honor their loved one through organ and tissue donation, I can now continue to live my life with purpose and without pain. It is truly my honor to be a part of the amazing team at LifeNet, as we strive each day to serve the needs of the donor families and recipients on their healing journey.”

Maureen Mullin, MS
Donor Family Advocate
Maureen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa and a Master of Science degree in Community Health Education from Old Dominion University. She has worked with elderly nursing home patients and their families, developed and delivered health education and stress management programs, and counseled state and local government employees regarding their health.
“My interest in working for LifeNet Health came from an experience I had with walking alongside my friend during her grief over losing her 18-yearold son, Bradley to a head trauma accident. Bradley became an organ donor and I saw the profound impact this had on my friend and her family. The fact that people’s lives were saved and others’ lives were improved by Bradley’s gifts gave my friend and her family a sense that something good could come from their tragic loss. I feel honored to be a part of LifeNet Health and to work with donor families.”

“Being a people person, I enjoy helping and serving others. I learned early that working in the Donor Family Services Department is more than “just a job.” Our families have made the selfless decision to give life and hope to others, so serving them in any capacity is an honor and makes my job a ministry. It is a privilege to serve our families at a time when they need the greatest support.”
